Tormato used to run a legumes swap (along with a tomatoes swap) here on GardenWeb. He invites folks to join in at a new location.

Bumping this up, anyone not familiar with Tormato's legumes swap can find it "at a new location" above post, he hasn't been able to log on to GW, new computer, forum changing hands ?

i think the general consensus is that most people on this bean forum are just bean hoarders/collectors, so you might have better luck trying the seed exchange forum.

you can check my trade list if you might be interested in something. the bottom list are the type of beans i'm interested in, mostly pole beans.

Tormato hosts a bean trade as well as tomatoes.

Has Tormato hosted a bean swap lately? All I have seen is his tomato swap.

The "general consensus", as discussed recently on several threads, is that trading is way down since GW changed hands - in large part because many of those "hoarders/collectors" left the site. It does not help that Houzz deleted the Exchange portion of this forum, or that there is no longer a direct email link, or that you can no longer browse member Exchange Lists.

Since those are institutional problems across the entire site, you won't find much more activity on the Exchange forums either, as you can tell by the scarcity of comments there. I wish it were otherwise... while I am glad that Houzz rescued GW, it has lost much of its previous energy, and trading will probably never return to its previous level.

If he hasn't already I think Tormato will be hosting one later on, he's looking for more participants.

Well, look who's back :), So nice to "see" you here again. I was thinking of you just a little while ago when I planted the Blue Shackamaxons I got from you, thought I'd better grow them out before they were no longer viable.

We still have Exchange List functionality; the previously existing lists (including mine) were initially lost during the transition, but Houzz restored them. All of the HTML was lost, though, so the lists (like everything else here) look sterile.

You can create or edit your exchange list by clicking on 'your Houzz' in the upper right (when you are logged in), then clicking 'edit profile'. From that page, 'advanced settings' allows you to edit your exchange page, among other things.

Thanks Zeedman! That helped me get the hardiness zone to show right away. It may be a while before I rebuild my exchange list, though. Gardenweb seems to have lost my entire account before the merger, so I'll have to redo it from scratch. But it's good to be back and to see old friends.
