Just a few thoughts (and note that I'm neither an expert nor do I even play one on tv). Is there an exterior door that you use regularly? If so, you might want a single light over that door to welcome you home at night. Our back door, that we'll use to come and go from the parking spot, is mostly glass, and I think it may be nice to have an inside light as well as an outside one. It's also been suggested to me that people like everything dimmable, which would then include your sitting room fixture and lights over sink.

It might be better to have one size instead of 2 sizes.

Dimmers are very helpful and useful.

I've been digging around to try and find information on lighting and thought I'd pass on a bit of what I've turned up in case it's helpful. Links are below. One further thought on your plan is that it might be helpful to have a can over each side of the stove rather than over the stove itself--the hood will probably have lighting for the stove, and then the cans would light the counters.
