How much will it cost to update basement?

This is a remodel basement is already finished but needs to be updated. It's basically all 80s paneling in a basement floor of raised ranch. demo of a wet bar, plaster and paint ceiling, adding some builtins, 8 recessed lights, painting, adding a closet where wet bar is. In Massachusetts. I already have a quote. Not sure what the range is for this type of work so looking for opinions here.

it's hard to say without square footage and seeing the basement, knowing the finishes, a lot goes into an estimate. check out homewyse.com and Cost vs. Value from Hanley-Wood, which is an excellent publisher of trade journals.

Does anyone know what it would cost to finish off this basement? It is already stubbed and framed. I am looking to finish off two rooms, each about 12 x 12, as inexpensively as possible. Please advise.

If you do it then materials and your own labor but only if you know what you are doing. If someone else does it then most likely 100-150 per square foot.

Seriously, though, how can anyone tell without a full set of specs?

Plaster? (not wallboard?) "Some" built-ins? A closet--Walk-in? Utility? How about flooring where the wet bar was? Wiring? Ductwork?Etc.
