Fiddled around and the image came up and no commentary . Not my orchid! Plant of the night at a meeting and spent half the previous week at an orchid show in the arid air of a shopping centre.

Probably easier to grow than some of the Cymbidiums that need cool summer nights otherwise they flower poorly.

Breeding is Cym.devonianum x madidum

You can see the madidum in it, but I've never seen one decked out with that many flowers.

That is gorgeous! I just need it to be a miniature also.

It was benched it the miniature Cymbidium section but the individual flower size is as miniature as it gets. Not for the space challenged! Sorry, the only pic i have is of the blooms. I have not seen Cym. madidum growing in the wild but it is reputed to have large foliage. Tropicbreezent will know.

C. madidum in the wild has foliage slightly smaller than the usual large species. But not at all small enough that I'd call it a miniature. More like the smaller end of the large species, if you know what I mean.

I dug out some of my photos of C. madidum in habitat and will put them on a new thread for anyone interested in seeing them.
