I don't know if it's considered passe or not, but I've never liked chair pads, period. So I'd just skip them altogether. That said, if I were to have them, I'd probably prefer not matching them to the drapes.

The chairs are hard and my tailbone needs the cushioning!

Thank you everyone. I appreciate and value your feedback. I love, love, love my drapery material so I will use it for the nook curtains. I have decided to get a complimentary fabric for the cushions. Thank you all again.

Note that the chair cushion material matches teh table top, brown, the beams, brown, and there is probably brown in the curtains somewhere. So be aware that the cushion colors on your chairs should relate to something else in the room besides the curtains. It will be a more cohesive and blended look. Please post pics!
