usually i am on the harvest forum, but i have a seed question. i just cut up a butternut and most its seeds have sprouted. it was on the vine until frost, then cured for a few days ( hot and humid) . then to the basement for about 3 weeks, altho it hasn't been cold there with record breaking heat this last week in Ct.

so, can i dry and save the seeds that haven't sprouted ? can we eat the sprouts ? and- do i need to bake all the butternuts and freeze them, to prevent any decomposition from the inside if they are left in storage ??

would an overnight in the fridge arrest the sprouts without damaging the squash ? there is a lot online about this, but i trust this site the most
