Lazy Weekend!

The cold spell that we had at the end of October really had me thinking the season was done! Cleaned out, cut back and got rid of everything - only have to wait for all the leaves to fall.

Low and behold, the last week has been exceptionally warm! 70F in November!!! Just can't believe it! With most of the autumn garden chores done, it's time to be lazy;))) Even the cows in the fields are lazy!

The cold foggy weather took it's toll on many of the blooms and a lot look like this ...

But this warm weather is giving the roses another chance to bloom so I might still see some more like this ....

rooted florist rose cutting (Flash Dance?)

and Blue River which has since opened but has been the worst rose in my garden as far as blackspot is concerned! Pity because the blooms are really lovely!

Love the cows, resting before they are milked and we can enjoy the Cheese.

Love your shot of the cows resting too! Your roses look like lots of mine. Several blooms here have brown petals and brown mushy buds. Grrrrr. Your roses that did open look pretty. I cut a small handful today but doubt I will get many more. Judy

Broceliande is a knockout. Never have I seen all the cows lying down.

Such a serene shot of the cows. Roses are gorgeous as always :) I have tons of mushy brown buds. So aggravating. I'm ready to just prune it all back and wait for spring now. It's gonna be a long time coming...

It's so funny that ALL the cows are lying down. I wonder if one stands up, would they all stand up?

This weekend
is going to be a little busier! Must dig a hole for Perrenial Blue and have to
transplant a boxwood first. Want to be prepared for when it arrives next week.
Temperatures still rather high for this time of the year and the roses are
between two minds about going dormant!
