I went to scrape up some fallen leaves at the edge of the driveway near an untended area, to add to the mulch after retiring the garden plot for winter. Underneath the leaves, on the concrete, I found scads of juvenile worms. I thought they might be just soil worms up and about when it rained hard, but it stopped raining a while back, things are drying out, and they're still there. There's no soil underneath them, just pavement, and a small but significant buildup of casts. I think they're living in the rotting leaves.

They have red heads, bodies range from reddish to a dull greyish purple. No significant stripes like e. fetida or hortensis. They seem pretty sluggish when it's cold out early in the morning, but when the day warms up or they're warmed by body heat, they're much more active (not AJ active, though).

Google of a basic description tells me they might be l. rubellus, but I'm not sure. Can I get some help figuring these guys out?
