I'm not a pro but remodeling whole house now and dealing with the same struggles...but I would say to center within the counter space. Think it will trick the eye into being symmetrical.

Thanks @claire9824 are you doing this in your master? We were trying to decide on two sinks vs. one with a vanity area to get ready...most people said two sinks though.

I'm going crazy...so many decisions that will impact daily function and sooo many ways to do things and products to research- totally overwhelming. Post a pic when you're finished :) good luck to you too!

Hi Jessica, we are lucky to have space for separate vanities. The one above is my husband's. Mine has a makeup vanity. You are welcome to check out my idea book named ""Bath Makeup Vanity" for ideas.

I forgot that the left part of the vanity where the plumbing goes juts out (like pic below) so the sink will have to be centered over the doors. I can lay it out like the yellow bathroom (pic above) w/a wide mirror. My only worry is that my faucet set is prominent just like in the pic below. My cabinetry is also similar to the white cabinetry below.



Or I could have a mirror of 17"w and keep the mirror and sconces completely over the left cabinet centered over the faucet. Which would be better? I don't know.

We decided on a solution. We will put the sconces on the mirrors. Our vanities are identical except that mine has a makeup vanity added. This mirror sink, sconce dilemma has been a pain. I hope this will look nice especially since it will cost more.

I have to accept that sometimes there is not a perfect solution available.
