Ikea?

If you want just a simple kitchen and are looking at pre-manufactured I would go with a Shaker door/drawer design, surface mounted and have them finished with an enamel paint.

If you call around to some local millwork shops you can get price quotes to have them made and compare to pre-manufactured.

Ikea is also very inexpensive, but you have to be willing to build them at home or pay somebody to do it...

I haven't use Ikea kitchen cabinets myself, but I have heard critiques that the quality is not very durable. I have Ikea cabinets in my master bath and I've been happy with the quality, but I doubt they'd hold up to much abuse. Assembly of anything from Ikea is ridiculously easy if you follow the instructions step by step. The one thing I like about the base hardware for their cabinets is the adjustability. I assembled, installed and leveled by master bath by myself in about two hours. That included plumbing.
