Raised Bed Material Inquiry + Informative Book Recommendation

Hello, thank you in advance for your input. While I've read elsewhere that they can be used, I just wanted to verify: Are (reasonably sized) rocks collected from the garden safe to use as raised bed borders? This is for (potentially) greater sustainability and resiliency purposes, I'm aware of the other R.B. materials.

In a way, the question sounds silly, but potentially unsafe gardening practices defeats the purpose of a healthy garden!

I also have a book recommendation for everybody interested in intensive agriculture, for $10 (via Amazon's Kindle reader app) it's a definite 'steal of a deal' book! It's called "Mini Farming: Self-Sufficiency on 1/4th Acre" (In the book, it's less land than that if you don't wish to have a portion of land for marketable crops).

Again thank you in advance GardenWeb community!
