Sorry I don't know, poss seeds from a plant that if not isolated in time explodes it's seeds out so what ever plants are in the firing line then I guess that's where they land and in this case grow lol. I know dorstenia so this it as to what these are I don't honestly know.

Rick, as a former grower/collector of caudiciforms, I know what it is. ;-) I am 99,9% sure that the species is Dorstenia hildebrandtii. I grew the species myself.

And beware, they mature pretty quickly with odd-looking "star flowers" producing many small viable seeds asexually. The seeds are dispersed in a sudden "explosion"/burst, sending seeds off in every direction. At some time your pachypodium was hit. ;-)

If you want to prevent a dorstenia invasion of your other plant containers, you need to cover or remove the flowers. ;-)

I got tired of the species. No offence, it's not looking that great growing leggy natually. Other Dorstenia species are more showy, for instance D. gigas or D. foetida. :-) D. gigas is one of my favourite caudiciforms, but it's quite demanding (prone to rot and difficult to reroot) and will grow lanky if not grown under intense light.

Thanks Martin, appreciate it. Definitely does look like that. Not sure it is something that I would have picked up on my own. Will watch it for a bit, but the Pachypodium is more important.

Maybe this species Dorstenia is more like a weed where it grows natively?
