Are you keeping the yellow walls?

For now, yes. They freshly painted the whole house before leaving and I can't bring myself to re-paint over new paint. In time I'm sure we will change the wall colors.

I believe this is fun, no stains show and i think it is indoor outdoor.

a second cheerful, show no stains.

I think you should paint the walls a white color ASAP. You are going to end up spending money working around the yellow color, then you are going to paint anyway in a year or two and be stuck with choices you made only because of the yellow paint.

Yellow is a light color. It won't be hard to cover. Choose a wall color that looks good with the existing trim color.

Seriously, paint the walls.

I love the last rug it is fun for now and since you won’t be turning this space into a DR for while it might as well be fun. When the kids move out of this space then worry about paint, new rug , furniture, lighting, for now relax.
