Harvesting Moon Flower Seed

Hello..

I have a quick question regarding how the best way to harvest seed from Moon Flowers might be.. At this point, I have tons of huge seedPods all over the (now deceased) plant, but they are still moist.. My previous experience with this is to wait until the seed pods have dried out.. Any ideas on this? Should I pull up the plant, and hang it up until it's dry..........or just let the drying process take it's normal course?

I have a container I put mine in. I put the container under where the pod is, then cut it off with a scissor. I let them dry in the open container. I cut them green.
