I know, right? Incredible. I've been throwing the kids outside a lot.

It is an El Nino December (!) and is one of the reasons I love El Nino. While El Nino doesn't always give us the exact same type of weather each time it happens, the phrase in my head that describes what we generally get at our house in El Nino is "wetter and warmer winter". I love a warmer winter always and if it is a wetter winter, that's just a bonus too.

I get out early, early, early and walk the dogs while it is still cold so I bundle up in layers. By mid-morning we're no longer in the 30s or 40s and I take off the extra layers.

I'm especially loving the sunshine.

Between the holiday preparations and helping our son work on his house, my garden To Do list isn't getting touched this week, but I'm okay with that. I like helping him work on his house while the weather is lovely---it is so much fun that working on the house when it is wet and cold.

We're supposed to be really warm on Friday but then (naturally), the rain comes and ruins the weekend.

Oh, and Stocker Gal, when I pull up big ornamental sweet potato tubers like that, I cure/air dry them and store them in the back corner of my pantry and replant them in spring.

you wont see me complain one bit about the weather right now. light jacket and short sleeve by noon on december 9th =awesome. I just hope that it doesnt trick the fruit trees to bloom too early come february. My orchard is on it 3rd year and I really have high hopes at a harvest.

To late to store the tubers, I threw them to the donkeys. The ones I planted in the ground had tubers more like fat roots, they were very long and skinny. The one tubler was so big it split my pot completely in two pieces. I have it duct taped together, now if that's not pure okie I don't know what is. Ha ha. Today we broke our old record of 73, we got to 74. It was beautiful. I will enjoy this weather until it breaks. We really don't need anymore water at this point.
