I just watered it after I took that picture. At what time should I remove the brown leaves?

I would let them fall off naturally.

Alright, will do. Also how do you know that it looks dehydrated? I know some of the tips are starting to dry out but are there other ways to tell? I'm still new with air plants.

Honestly, I cannot quantify it, it is just starting to look that way. I can only say it's from years of experience! Best I can do is to say it should have plumper leaves, more relaxed rosette.

The plant is fine, although it should have been a bit larger before separation. The brown basal coloration is normal. It looks to be T. tricolor.

I suggest mounting it such that it is horizontal or pointing downward, so water does not collect among the leaves and cause rot. Also good airflow to help it dry. It almost looks a little bit too watered to me, but it may simply be the lighting.
