Overwhelmed by Beth's large offering (Canadian Sunset is especially nice--and those lavenders, always!. . . and Claude Monet), I can only humbly offer one "C"--

    Crimson Bouquet

I guess she does make up for it by her red intensity, doesn't she!

    Kate

So many beauties, Beth! I agree with Kate on the lavenders, love the apricots and oranges too, lots of beauties! Love your Crimson Bouquet, Kate!

    Here are my C Roses.

Beautiful roses!!! Crimson Bouquet was close to bullet proof here and did not fade during the dog days of summer.

I've always been drawn to the coffee roses, but these threads are tempting me with some truly lovely pinks and lavenders! Chic, Coretta Scott King, Charles de Gaulle - so gorgeous! And Kate, that deep red Crimson Bouquet is stunning!

here are a few more Cs

    Cafe

    Carding Mill

Chocolate Ripples - very new and not much to see this year, but I'm very excited to watch it grow

    Cinco de Mayo

    Coffee Bean (mini)

Oh my goodness! So many beauties! My 'watch list' is getting longer and we are only on the C's!!! Beth just love Chantilly Lace and Chic - pity I couldn't add them! Here are my C's....

    Christoph Columbus

    Compassion

Cumba Meillandina (saw this one at a nursery in June -looked like this- and couldn't stop thinking about it - finally bought it in August but the blooms were not as impressive - maybe next year.

Beautiful roses. I'm loving Charles de Gaulle that several of you have posted.

I wish I had more room for roses, there are so many I would love to have. My only "C" is Chicago Peace.

Mossy, if you can only have one "C," Chicago Peace is a grand choice. Love it!

And I'm loving the various lavender roses posted above. Do I need to make room to shoe-horn in a lavender HT? How big does Charles DeGaulle get in the midwest? And how is it on BS?

RedWolf--what a nice Carding Mill. And sutekesh, Chandos beauty and Compassion are lovely.

    Kate

Thanks Kate - about BS on Charles de Gaulle: good resistance in my garden where other roses battle but I don't know how our climates compare. Sharlene

Love the rose pics everyone! :-)

I didn't realize how many C's I love. It's going to be grand opening them to their larger size and savoring every nuance of color. Hope you don't mind some repeats.

Charles Darwin - Austin, US intro. 2001, I didn't realize the lovely color & form changes this rose accomplishes in 6 days (during a heat wave).

Chicago Peace - Johnston'62 HT, mouth melting colors, lasts better cut than Peace but don't count on much past 3-4 days. Love Mossy's grp shot.

Colette - Meilland'94, Cl., an evening shot shows how much red is added by the flash. You can also get this effect by shooting during a colorful sunset.

Colette - daytime, really really like this rose. Besides color (which varies from pink to apricot) and form, I think it's the fact that the cluster of buds opens a few at a time, giving a longer more interesting show. No disease. Rose slugs adore it.

Compassion - Harkness'72, Cl., just don't love this rose after 10+ yrs. In full bloom it's attractive ....................... meh. Good example of rose slug damaged leaves plus a grasshopper has taken a chomp.

Compassion - a momentarily shaped bud in it's more frequent pink color.

    Wow. Love everyone's beautiful roses!!

Oh Pat--some lovelies! Caldwell Pet certainly is photogenic, and I love your Clothilde--hope mine takes off next year and really throws out a lot of those blooms. But what I am really taken by today is your Chris Evert--love those colors, great shape.

Pat_Bama, great pictures! Is Charlotte usually that pale in your climate? TIA

So who can tell me about Coretta Scott King as a plant? Would it take zone 5?

Beautiful roses everyone. No "C"s in my garden. Sigh...

Here's Claire Austin -- early bloom in yellow, changing to white.

    Chris Evert

    Happy Holidays!

    Ann

Kate, Chris Evert is a great rose for me...doesn't get too big, good bloomer, good cut flower, good scent & good disease resistance. If you like her coloring, I would highly recommend. Ann posted a beautiful picture of her, too!

irisgal, That picture is pretty true to Charlotte's coloring most of the time here. She will start out a deeper yellow sometimes, but quickly fades to a pale, creamy yellow. Here is the deepest coloring she ever shows, but will soften within hours (mine is in full sun, though):

Charlotte is just lovely. Soft and lovely. Thanks Pat. I'm getting more open-minded to yellow in the garden.

Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do. Great roses everyone!

Ann, thank you for the beautiful Claire Austin picture! that is one of the two I ordered from the DA site, and now i am giddy!

Ann, the Chris Everett is gorgeous. I love the white with contrasting dark green leaves! Beautiful image of Chrysler Imperial, Seil.

    Here's one I forgot about...

    Clotilde Soupert

    Lynn

Lorrihz -- happy to support your DA shopping! Hope you enjoy Claire Austin.

Lynn -- thank you for your appreciation of Chris Evert! I keep going back to look at your Charles Rennie Mackintosh photo -- I love lavender roses and wish I had room for him. Your Clotilde Soupert is also awesome.

    Happy New Year to all,

    Ann

Here are a couple of my 'C's

    Chaucer
    Curly Pink

In Germany, Kordes 'First Crush' is known as 'Constanze Mozart'. I think this is a much more elegant name than the one they chose for the American market, I wonder why they changed the name there.

This is from first year standard, great scent right at nose height!

Ninkasi, that is such a beautiful rose and I agree about the name. I hope it is going to be released in Australia, because I find Kordes roses to be very good in my garden. I am adding a few more this year.

Oh Ninkasi that's so beautiful! I got an ownroot one from Northland Rosarium in the summer. Still a small thing and hadn't bloomed yet. I can't wait til it does bloom. And I also call mine CONSTANZE MOZART. I tend to use the hybridizer's original name on most of my roses that are not from the US.

The only C I have, CHIPPENDALE

It keeps its color from july thru september.

LOVELY, GORGEOUS ROSES EVERYONE! My lone C rose is CRESSIDA. I got her from Vintage Gardens (I miss them so very much). She is thorny and not very hardy... Planted right next to my house in a 1' x 2' bed, and thrives there. Every winter she dies back to the ground, and every year she sends out 5' canes with these gorgeous, buxom, roses. They smell like heaven... Heavy myrrh that is intoxicating. I am sorry that she is no longer available except in England. I feel guilty and sad for showing her now, but maybe we can get someone to offer her.

Don't have many Cs but sure enjoyed looking at everyone else's
