Both are native to Wyoming, the second also occurs in BC. So they grow wild close to Alberta, just not in it apparently.

I have just started on the Alnifolia , have 2 Honeywood so far, native ones to this area only have a good crop of berries once in many years it seems.

uthaensis and cusickii my friend has in Washington state say's...definately worth a try and some are larger and better tasting compared to Alnifolia,..Smokey
and Regent he has.

Note that it's utahensis, as in Utah. Labeling of species service-berries (as opposed to named cultivars) in commerce is quite loose, everyone has not even been on the same page regarding the interpretation of the wild populations (see discussion on page linked to above). So I'd want to verify someone was growing true-to-name material before I drew conclusions from their experiences.

Verify as in the plants had the right habit, leaves, flowers and fruits for the species they were supposed to be. Including whatever the pertinent fine anatomical details were in each case.
