Mine have had foliage up for months, since about September at least, and within the last two months the seedlings have been coming up with their small new leaves. A few of the coums are already showing flower buds coming up so you might have something to worry about as far as your original plants go.

Not much you can do though, make sure you keep an eye on the small leaves you found, and if they're seedlings you might be even better off in the long run with those filling in and taking off!

Katob, I was hoping you would post as I remember you have cyclamen as well. If they went away, that would be puzzling as the summer was very dry and I thought that would be a positive thing for them. I am waiting for the swamp in my backyard (lots of rain recently) to dry a bit before going again and taking a picture.

Pulled back to leaf litter and here are the leaves. They look really delicate so I didn't dig down to the ground to see if they are radiating from the same point. Doesn't look like it to be honest.

They do look like seedlings, which is good and bad news I guess.... if they like the spot well enough to reseed, I would be very hopeful for a nice patch in a few years. Believe it or not, there's a good chance you could get your first blooms off these not this spring but maybe next. They grow fairly fast!

I figured as much. :/ Well, if it works out, I will be delighted in a few years with my plethora of cyclamen that were born/adjusted to my conditions. If not, my new place for finicky plants that want drier summer conditions is under my giant hickory next to my fir tree. :)
