Your tree will flower because it was grafted is true because the scion is from a mature tree. The Honeybell will not pollinate with out another variety.

Read flower type paragraph,

Are you saying it will flower but will not pollinate?

I find that strange thing happen when I grow plants.

The article said it cannot self pollinate due to incompatible screwed up DNA in the pollen in the hybridize flowers. I would not be surprise if a flower now and then pollinates itself.

May I suggest that you edit you Gardenweb name to indicate your zone and area. If you live in Florida or California down south My answer would be don't worry everyone else has citrus that will pollinate your trees .

I don't know about the variety Honeybell in particular as I'm not familiar with that one, but all citrus will make fruit without pollination.

What they will not make without pollination is seeds. You need bees to get seeds, but the fruit itself will grow without any bees or other trees. The exception to this are naturally seedless varieties. Their flowers will not make seeds even when pollinated.

So again, citrus will grow fruit without pollination. Pollination just makes seeds inside the fruit. (unless it's a seedless type).

Grafting has nothing to do with pollination.

Honey bell is mainly minneola tangelo. There is another Honey bell variety but it's more of a historical curiosity.

barb is right about grafting not being a factor in anything. And normally she would be right about the tree not needing pollination. Normally the tree will either self pollinate or not pollinate and make seedless fruit.

but minneola is an exception. It wants pollination, and even then sometimes it doesn't like to set fruit.

Interesting! I learned something new today. It is definitely an exception.

I would like about 10 kiffer lime seeds if you have a couple of cuttings?

thanks
