These are pics of a LR just about exactly that size so a smaller scaled sofa could go where the bench is a a T.V where the fireplace is

You could have a functional bench seat that opens up where you store toys on a long end of the room. If there is a tv in the room put it in the corner on other end with a small couch and chair obliquely to the room. Need pictures to help, though

So, this is the room. The TV is on the wall the coach is facing. I just don't like the set up. Any advice?

I think good advice for long rectangular spaces is to break them into parts and create furniture arrangements that are more square. It looks like you might have room for two distinct spaces here, so a few options come to mind.

1) a square chair and a half that sits perpendicular to your couch. Behind this seating area, you could create a storage zone - cabinetry or storage furniture with a kids table for play, perhaps?

2) a sofa with a chaise at the end

3) a custom sectional with a long, low storage piece behind it that would offer a place to store toys - I'm not sure you have enough room for this. Depending on the amount of toy storage needed and the way you want your space to function, the second seating area could be a reading chair or two or a game table.

Whatever you do, you need to claim space in the middle of the room (while preserving your ability to move around) to keep this from looking like a bowling alley :). Good luck - post pics when you're done!
