What is the body color?

have you used either the sherwin williams or ben moore color selection tools for door color suggestions?

I've used each tool to help me choose door color on two houses and have received several compliments from neighbors and guests. The colors were more bold though. Last house was a burnt orange that was suggested for our body color and this house has a fun coral color.

I like a welcoming and eye catching front door, though. IMO it makes a house special and if I tire of the color it's the easiest exterior paint thing to change.

The siding color is certainteed, color is seagrass. No, I haven't used that tool...thank you! I will have to try and figure it out. Yes, totally agree...love an eye catching front door. To be honest, I'm not crazy about our front door but it's not in the budget to change it right now. From the architectural drawings, I thought that it was wood and I don't like that the grilles are inside the glass, so they cannot be painted to match the door. So I am stuck now with picking a great color :) Thanks for your suggestions!

My first choice would be save up and replace with wood door.

In the meantime, maybe paint it yellow? What is your climate, what are your landscaping plans?

Just about any color but white, not provocative or catchy enough. I would consider coloring the dormers too. Playing with the coloring tool is your best bet.

We live in New Jersey. We haven't really decided on landscaping yet, as we cannot do much with that until Spring.

Red.

Red would be my first instinct, too. I know red doors are probably over done these days, but painting our front door a deep red really did wonders.

My initial thought was yellow also.

After noticing the dormers, I lean towards gray. Here's Gris on dormers and front door:

Or maybe Gris dormers and a black door to match shutters.

I think a purplish color, like eggplant, would look lovely with the siding color. I'm not sure I would like it with black shutters though.

I'd like the dormers to *recede* -- possibly a deep color for them and the door.

What's the garage door situation?

I missed the part about the shutters. Are you set on having those? I would rather a wood front door than the shutters.

Thank you so much, everyone! I appreciate all of the pictures, too. I couldn't figure out how to use the color tool, lol. Oaktown, yes. We definitely want shutters. The door isn't wood. Eventually, we would love to get a real wood door but it's not in the budget right now.
