Jade Bonsai

last modified: 10 years ago

I bought a jade from Pro Flowers and it arrived on Wednesday Dec 23. When it arrived the soil was very wet, so I did not water it. However, on Saturday I noticed the soil seemed very dry and leaves had fallen off. The inserts said not to over water, so I added the last gulp of water from my water bottle and let it be. Sunday into Monday more leaves had fallen off and again the soil seemed real dry. I was afraid to water but added about 5 oz of water. Well leaves keep falling off today Dec 30th I added a whole 16 oz bottle of water. Have I doomed my plant? I do not have a green thumb but have always wanted a bonsai bought the jade because description said it was easy to care for. I am not sure what direction my window is but the tree is in front of it. I can say about mid-day the sun is shining right through this window. I'm in Arkansas it's kind of cold and the house stay at 75-78 F. So, I'm sure that I've watered it too soon and too much need to know what to do now to not kill my poor plant. Thanks for any help. The first 2 pictures are the 1st day the last is today December 30th.
