Hello GardenWeb pros,

We moved into this house in June and in the last few months, noticed some of the queen palm leaves (?) are turning yellow. Not sure if it's from lack of nutrients, or too much watering or too little.

We stopped by the neighborhood Green Acres nursery and the expert said that the reason was because our zone (10b, I think, near Sacramento, CA) is too cold for queen palms, which are used to warmer temps. (Our temps have been in the low 30's at night).

However, after thinking about it, that doesn't explain why 2 of the other queen palms are NOT yellow. If you look at pic 3, there's a queen palm that still looks healthy and green.

Here are some pics of the queen palms now, and also the fertilizer that a guy at Home Depot recommended (might have been for the sago palms mainly?).
