Living Room Help...

We just moved in to our new home from a much smaller space. We have an amalgamation of furniture / styles and are looking for ideas to make the room look more cohesive, inviting and child friendly. (We have a 10 month old who loves to climb!) The couch, chair and rug are new and must stay and the side tables were inherited and we would very much like to keep them. Please help!
