So are there two or four sconces at the vanity? I don't think 40w is high enough. That's where you need your most wattage. I'm not sure 60's would be adequate. If it were my bathroom, I'd put a wall sconce in the toilet area. Is there anything in the area where the window is? A dressing table? Two or three more recessed lights. My bathroom door and linen closet is set up like yours. One of my recessed lights is just inside the door. You won't be able to see well in there (linen closet) without one maybe centered with the entry door and linen closet (right off the corner of the vanity...if this is drawn to scale). And two more recessed lights depending on what's going on over by the window. Maybe 3 down the center of the bathroom (since you've got vanity sconces). Vanity sconces, recessed, potty light and shower light all on different switches AND on dimmers :) I have the recessed lighting, potty alcove and chandy over the tub on different dimmer switches and love it :) Unfortunately I don't have eye level sconces at the vanity. Long story (sigh)
