Orange is fully mature and ripe. Yours not turning orange is the unusual thing.

I'm in the process of making limoncello with those "orange" Meyer lemons from Whole Foods. Can't wait to taste it.

I hear it's good, but if Italian lemons are available Meyer would be better used for something else. I do hear it makes the best lemonade.

Could be Meyer Lemon VS Improved Meyer Lemon

glen, I don't think your statement has anything to do with the fruits color. The Improved Meyer lemon is a disease free Meyer lemon cultivar that was developed in the 1940s to be resistant to the fatal citrus tristeza disease. Apart from this, there is no difference between the Improved Meyer lemon variety, and the old Meyer lemon variety.

“The fruit is large, very smooth, and thin skinned, very juicy, only slightly sour, and is practically seedless,” Meyer wrote of the discovery.

The sunkist ones 'Meyer Lemons' I buy are seedy, up to 8 per. It doesnt seem to be the 'original' specimen

pip my NZL from you is 7 feet tall by 6 feet wide and 30 inches deep and in ground for 3 winters now.and produced 41 lemons and they were a light orange/yellow color
