First off, nice kitchen. At first I was inclined to suggest a simple modern style valance. I feel most windows are best served by some kind of treatment. It dresses up a window and adds to the room. But then I looked closer at the positioning of your recessed lights above the sink. They are so close to the wall and they already wash the wall. Therefore, a valance would cut off the light needed for tasks at the sink and all the light would hit the top of it. So, I think a relaxed roman shade is best and would soften the space.

I love the look of a bare window. It opens up the area and makes it look more spacious. If you have to have a covering why not just a roller blind or a sunscreen blind? Use it only at night. Just a thought.

Due to the stacking, putting most fabric window coverings in this window will make it appear shorter than it is, You might want to use something like the Hunter Douglas Vignette. The beauty of this type of product is that the shade completely disappears inside the headrail when it's drawn up, and with the headrail only being about 3" high, it wouldn't block your view or the sunlight during the day. Once it's lowered, you would have complete privacy at night, and the beauty of a fabric shade at the window. It's very low maintenance, and can be washed off with a baby wipe if something splashes on them. It's not an inexpensive window treatment, but well worth considering.

I would recommend a flat roman shade for a nice tailored look but add a valance to get a bit more height out of your window and improve the proportion beside your cabinets.
