I'm looking to take a plain white painted brick fireplace up a notch! What I'm needing ideas for is this: I'm planning on adding around the firebox a 1 inch thick precast stone pieces for form a "frame" as such from the smoother finish we will cover the bricks with. In the middle of the top border piece will be a "keystone" which could have a design carved into the mold from a jpg of an image that I would provide. Any suggestions on where to find or good subject matter for such? I think I'd like sort of a architectural "relic" looking piece but pretty open. This is sort of an obscure project but I'd appreciate any help-thanks!
