Here are my suggestions:

1) Put wall art over the sofa (8-10" above back of sofa).

2) Move the small white top end table next to the sofa to between the two chairs.

3) Put a bigger end table next to the sofa.

4) Get some floor lamps or table lamps (for end tables).

I like your chairs!

The chairs are the best part as of now. For start, I would try creating a seating area closer to the window for a better overall flow. Side table to the other side of sofa and sofa scooted closer to window. The chairs would sit opposite to the sofa.

Let's begin: add a Small table between two chairs. Add a pharmacy lamp to left of sofa, a tall standing lamp to the right. Find a large map, frame and hang it above the chairs. Relocate grouping of photos to above sofa when you have more photos. Try to find a wonderful globe, either stand on floor (if large) or place on a surface.

I would use a longer curtain rod, so the curtains frame the window and fill in the space on either side. If feasible, try your couch on the other wall and then add lots more travel prints centered above (even add floating shevles) and place your chairs opposite, for better conversation. Under the window you could look for low bookcase (and add a lamp) and add accessories you picked up while travelling + books displayed nicely. If couch cannot be moved, still place chairs opposite + bookcase where chairs were. Add larger and more pillows and throw over the side of the couch. All of these small changes will really warm up your room and make it feel more complete and cozy.

Like your ideas. I was planning on putting the same side table in between the two chairs. Not sure why I am not feeling the chairs. I just feel like they are getting washed out from my grey walls.

I was thinking the same thing about the coffee table. But I got it from West Elm and it's probably going to be a pain to return. This room is right by the front door of my house. I am not sure how it will look to place the chairs opposite the sofa.

So no to the leaning bookshelf? I have a map in my existing gallery wall but it's not that big. I like your idea to move the pictures to above the sofa. I have more pics but haven't gotten around to getting them printed and hung. I have a globe too on top of the side table. Doesn't necessarily have to go there. Just put it there for now.

My husband will kill me if I tell him to extend the curtain rod lol. Took forever to have him hang it up and he asked me multiple times if the length was what i wanted :) The pics below is kinda dark but gives you an idea. They are currently 4 inches away from window. The couch won't fit on the other wall. For the window area, was thinking of a bench of a few poufs.

I also had a fiddle leaf fig tree on the right side of the sofa but it looked too bulky for that corner so I returned it!

Ok, it's getting better with the chairs moved! Regarding the curtains, can you just extend the rods and rehang the curtains, without moving the brackets? If the existing rod won't extend to the ends of the wall, you might be able to add a rod extension piece to the middle. You might need to buy a couple of more panels...
Can you take the maps or prints to a printing place for enlargement to make them more substantial?

Please extend the rod or buy a longer one and you just place it up there yourself with hubby's help. Chairs look better in new location.
