I see nothing critical, but if it is acting as a cork on a bottle, it may not be getting needed air flow in that area, so I suggest simply letting it lie somewhere or loosely wrap some fishing line or dental floss or not-copper wire around it and hanging it where it does experience air and light (not necessarily sunlight, but it can be bright light or a grow light). From pictures I've seen they like to grow on tree branches with the leaves pointing down (keeps water from collecting inside). See, for example: "Hanging plants without the hangers"
