need help finding this plant:

when I was a kid roaming the 'out back' of the prairies of Oklahoma there was a plant I fondly remember and would love to try to grow it here in Indiana. It was about 6" to 1' high.. hardy, purple type blossom and very very fragrant...some what spicy. I remember it being called a wild sweet William but don't know if that is correct or not.

Your help would be appreciated.
