Fun Wallpaper

I always like to use my own rose pictures for my iPhone Wallpaper, been trying these for a few days, the rose just needs to have a nice center, and I crop it. Makes a pretty background.

Very pretty, Sara-Ann. I don't have an iPhone, but I used a cluster of Augusta Luise on my iPad.

    Melodye.

    Lovely picture, Melodye.

I do the same thing, though right now I've got something a little different as my Surface wallpaper - all the daylily crosses I'm growing from seed!

I've never grown daylilies before, and I'm having a lot of fun nurturing the little guys and imagining what the babies might look like!

That's pretty and colorful, redwolfdoc. I've never grown daylilies, but have thought about it, they're so pretty with so much variety.

It's the variety of colour and pattern that won me over in the end. I spent so much time and energy ripping the standard orange ones out of my garden over the last few years - they're tenacious little buggers! - that my DH thinks I'm nuts for starting a bunch of new ones from seed... But they really can be very pretty, can't they? I have a play area for the kids in the back yard that is ringed by Karl Foerster grass (I thought it would make a fun screen for them to hide out behind - the slide pokes out from between plants) and I'm thinking that the daylily foliage will make a nice border all along the bottom.

Melodye, That's a beautiful picture of Augusta Luise! Sara Ann & Redwolf...how creative & original you two are! I've had the same boring bloom shot of Peace on my phone for years now...I should really change it up every now & then. Redwolf, I keep looking at all the daylilies in catalogs that come in the mail and thinking I should add more. I only have Strawberry Candy. Been growing it for many years, and its a great carefree plant with a very heavy first bloom...supposedly a rebloomer, but I've never had it rebloom for me...must be doing something wrong.

What a beautiful flower, pat_bama. Redwolfdoc, that is a stunning collection. I also am thinking of adding to mine. Melodye

Pat, that's gorgeous. I think as with iris, rebloom is pretty hit and miss. Depends a lot on the environment, zone, etc.

Great shot of Augusta Luise, Melodye. That's one I'd add if it were available here.

Sara Ann, I love those pictures. Do you use a macro lens? What roses are they?

Great pics everyone. Sara you really should add some daylilies. Mine flush right after the roses finish their spring flush. They multiply so easy and bloom great year after year. They're addictive too. I ordered tons for several years then my yard just got toooooo busy so I moved lots of my daylilies out to other areas of the yard. Judy

Thank you everyone. Pat, that's a beautiful daylily. Redwolfdoc, I don't do any thing special when I take pictures. The varieties are Liebeszauber, Pope John Paul II, Twilight Zone, Sunsprite, Love Song, Belinda's Dream, Peace, and Perfume Delight. Judy, I would love to have a few daylilies, and other flowers too, I'm just overwhelmed by all the choices.

Jasmine, yes it is Paradise and Red Intuition. I do enjoy purple and reds together.
