Sometimes the quilts she does look so easy but the directions aren't always crystal clear. Hope you can figure out a rescue.

How much are they off? This pattern would be so easy to trim down without it even showing later on. Why not just pick your smallest and trim all the others to the same dimension? Remember to trim a bit off both sides if it's wider, not just one side. If you are off 1/2" you take 1/4" off either side. It looks modern already so I think you'd be fine.

I think log cabins are the worst for this with all the accumulated seams. I've learned to trim after each row now but I've never done one that didn't need trimming somewhere.

I trim my log cabins after each row. I like 90deg corners.

Those jelly rolls with the pinked edges are larger than 2 1/2", which I discovered the hard way...so now, like toolgranny and others, I'm trimming after each row addition.

This is a lovely quilt, Jen assembled this during the fall retreat- it's really sharp! Follow toolgranny's advice and you will have a lovely result!

it's sort of a math problem. You have to decide what the measurement will be after you assemble each round. For instance if you start with a 2" center square and add 2" strips, after your seams you end up with 1-3/4" strip plus 1-1/2" center plus another 1-3/4" strip when they are sewn together. That first square should trim up to 5". You just keep figuring it out as you go with math. Adding another 2" strip on each side makes more seam allowances and the next square becomes 8" I think. Each square gets trimmed to what it should be, and squared up, before you add the next round of strips and you'll come out fine. I learned this lesson the hard way.

Thank you for your comments. I think I have to put these blocks aside and work on something else. Maybe someday I will get back to them and finish what I started.
