Sharlene of course we don't mind seeing you own creation! LOVING LORNA is beautiful! Is she a climber like her mama? And I just love your LAVENDER JOY. I got one from Cliff a few yrs back, and I seem to have lost that one. It's not in the bed that I'm moving roses out of. Must've died or something. Bummer. I like it!!

Sharlene, LOVING LORNA is a beautiful name for a beautiful rose.

Here is a grocery store mini that sort of leaped into my shopping cart. I couldn't help it. Lavender is my favorite color and I didn't have a lavender rose in my garden. It is LAMY PARADE.

BTW you really lucked out with Lamy!!! And thanks for the quick link;) I already admired it in March '15 when HMF user Rosentrost (freiburgbalkon - I think she changed her user name) posted some pics. The colour is stunning. Had my eyes open ever since but have never seen it here. Hope it does well for you!

Lots more lovely L's have been added since I last looked! Leading Lady, Little Artist, LD Braithwaite, Lamy Parade & a bunch of beautiful lavenders! Sharlene, your Loving Lorna looks wonderful! As for my Lady Hillingdon, I have the bush form which was new to me last year, so still very small. I've read lots of positive feedback on the climbing version, but haven't tried that one.

Lady Hillingdon is really beautiful. All of my roses, save one, are moderns but I have been lurking on the Antique Roses Forum and am playing with the idea of getting some older roses. Lady Hillingdon is one of the ones I have been looking at but I want to wait with ordering. We plan to visit the Sangerhausen Rosarium early this summer then I will be able to see for myself what they look like. Can't wait.

Sharlene, you will love Sangerhausen. It is magnificent! The roses are amazing and then the rose ice cream... that is reason alone to make the trip!

Oooooh--all those lavenders are driving me nuts. Now I'm not sure I can wait for the spring delivery of my Love Song. I want it NOW!

I think this must be my favourite letter so far this year. What wonderful roses! Sharlene, your pictures are gorgeous and your roses too - Loving Lorna is an absolute stunner. Wonderful delicate colours, and to think - fragrant as well! *Sigh*

Also that is one beautiful shot of Lavender Pinocchio. I had to shovel prune mine - it's just not cut out for my climate/yard!

Beth, Les Sjulin is a very pretty shade of pink. Does it hold the colour as the blooms age?

Pat, Lady Hillingdon is lovely. I love those soft yellows.

I have only one and it didn't perform well after last winter. it also almost completely defoliates from black spot. I expect its days are numbered.

Karen, LES SJULIN does keep the color pretty well. But it's a rose that blows pretty fast, as most of the Buck's do.

The lavender roses are so pretty! Very annoying that not many are available here ( I always keep at least two windows open when I got through these threads, ready to cut and paste into HMF to check out the really interesting ones). Probably just as well, I've found far too many that are already,...:)
