It would depend on where your house is located. Tile is probably more common in more tropical climates. A bedroom wouldn't need slip resistant tiles as they wouldn't be exposed to water. There are many nice ceramic/porcelain flooring tiles that look like wood. This could be a good compromise if you are looking to go with the feel of tile, but the look of a more traditional bedroom flooring.

Tons of people choose to install tile in their bathrooms. Honed or polished, both types are perfect for bathrooms. A lot of people are also hesitant to put a polished tile even though they love the color; think about this: any type of surface that is wet will be slippery. A way to combat this is to put down bathroom mats, and there you go! There are also specific wall tiles used for bathroom walls, those can only be used the walls. Wall tile are not strong enough to handle everyday traffic. It also does not have to be porcelain or ceramic. It can be travertine, marble, limestone, slate, or any natural stone tile. Natural stone brings a warmth to the space that is uniquely timeless and beautiful due to its infinite variations.

Oops I meant to ask if anyone tiled the walls of their bedroom!

Oh, my apologies! I've actually seen people use mosaics on a whole wall as an accent wall. It's a very fresh idea. But as for tiling bedroom walls, it's uncommon but not impossible. It's all about finding the perfect color for you!

We have installed tile on living room accent walls before (see attached image). This could be applied to a bedroom.
