sprouting cucumbers in the winter

I would like to have a house cucumber this winter and planted seed in a pot with coconut coir and a pot with potting soil. After 3 weeks nothing has sprouted. Our house is 70-80 degrees (wood heat). It is Winter here in Mt. In May I have no trouble starting them in the house. Any ideas? This is fresh seed from High Mowing.
