Any chance of pictures?

If not, describe the "strange brown spots" as well as you can. Size. Shape. etc.

Do you water overhead?

I live in the upper part of West Virginia. I don't have any pictures of them because I've never thought to ask before. Yes, I do water overhead, could that be the problem? At first I thought it was the soil or type of seed so I switched from a raised bed and planted some up against my house and by my porch and changed seed, but it still happens. I even got specially bred seed from West Virginia University that was designed to grow in WV, but no luck. I don't use any kind of chemicals (natural or man made) or fertilizer except for kitchen scraps (but only organic kitchen scraps). The spots are small, about the size of the tip of a pen and a brownish gray color, completely round. I find them on the top and bottom of the leaf. I've tried pulling up infected plants and cutting the branches off to try and stop it from spreading but it doesn't work. Even if the plants are 30ft away from each other they still get it. I've tried looking for bugs that could cause it but the only thing I've found is the occasional tomato worm on my plants. And I can only find about white spots online.

The small round brown spots are likely one of several common fungus diseases. It's important to stop overhead watering.
