Kohlrabi that stands up to cabbage maggots?

I LOVE this vegetable but have largely given up given the fact that I always lose at least half the crop to maggots. I'm in canola country, so I can't escape the pests. Can anyone recommend a resistant variety? Do I need to resign myself to floating covers? Or am I going to have to give up my garden to sweet corn this year?

Still have some Kohlrabi in the fridge, never had problems with cabbage pest.

I grew my kohlrabi and kale under cover this year...it's the only way to keep cabbage worms off my crops without resorting to pesticides. There are easy to make covers using plastic piping and net...I bought some tulle from Ikea, it was actually two curtain panels ($5 for two).
