I would think an Arabicum hybrid. The Swazicum hybrids have more on a velvety feel to the top surface and are more of a glaucus/green.

They look pink, but pink singles last the longest!

Most likely a cross of obesum X arabicum, but not pure Arabicum. It does have hairs on the underside of leaves which is a trait of the Arabicum. Not the obesum.

Will the cut bottom part with the roots live and grow new branches?

It will live but never grow new branches unless you graft a branch on it
