I think it needs less Florida conditions than most Vandaceous. Even I can get it to bloom.

Be happy that you have coolness outside. It is 27C with 70% humidity outside here now. YuK!

Good shape and lovely colour. Cool tolerance comes from Rhynchostylis ancestor

Sheila - I grow it in a hanging basket with some bark. That's how I bought it in spike last April and I haven't changed a thing. I mist it daily and soak it weekly. My sunroom is 55-80F and 50-70% humidity. LOTS of direct light. No extra lighting. It spent the summer outside as long as temps were above 60F.
