Need Creative Idea for Dining Table Base

Hi all,

I'm have a difficult time finding a table to fit our needs. would like to have a length of 36", width of 30" and height of about 30"...

cannot find anything that i like. i would prefer a pedestal base, since i feel 4 legs would be in the way getting up and down (banging legs), human and chair. full disclosure, we will prob be using only the ends of table since it will be situated longs ways along a glass slider., hope that makes sense....

would like to put a glass top on it. i can have that made to any specifications, since we have a glass maker about a mile away. they did glass tops for some of our furniture and they do great work....

so any creative ideas, websites where i can order a base, custom order a base or anything else would be most appreciated..

eg., DH nix the idea of a wine barrel for a base., said it would be too wide...

for a FR, so very casual...wood-look porcelain tile floor, TV of course, SW, butter pecan walls (3) and SW earthen jug wall...would love a metal base if possible

TIA

Sorry for the long post

If they're tall enough, you could find a side table you like and take the top off, or a pair of them (or two unmatched!) . A three-foot table though seems like would need only one.

Or leave the top on, if you can find a way to attach the glass top

Room and Board makes custom dining tables. They have several standard tables close in size to what you are looking for. What is your budget?

Keep in mind that any pedestal has to be heavy enough to handle the glass top.

Lots of options if you want to be creative -- tree trunks, columns, smaller tables or other repurposed options. There are also stores that sell bases separately. I suspect many furniture makers would. We had a custom table made and I know he would have made a base intended for a glass top or would make a wood top to any size you want. And I saw these table bases you can buy in the store or online.

You can visit any furniture store and ask what table bases come with different tops. I purchased a base a few years ago and had a granite top made, but had to have a very substantial base and is used in a kitchen eating area.

thanks tibbrix, the copper one is only 7lbs, so i don't think it will support the weight of glass, but the twig one is 45lbs, so perfect, but its only 22" high, too short...ugh!!! i might just order that copper one, as i need an end table and love that one!! search continues..... thanks again!
