Blossom Peacock in bloom

I saw this bloom at a flower competition a year ago and fell in love with it. I recently purchased the bulb at a local nursery. It looked a bit on the small size in my opinion, but it was the last one so I purchased it anyways. It has two scapes with four flowers each. In the second scape the flowers are smaller.

The hard part will be to get it to rebloom. I have read in previous threads that one can have difficulty getting Apple Blossom to produce multiple blooms and sometimes the color is not as intense. I'll do my best, but for right now I will enjoy this amaryllis. Hope you do too.

Don't forget to enjoy the fragrance, Blossom Peacock is on the top 10 list for fragrant hippies!!

You shouldn't have any trouble getting her to re-bloom, and mine had a great propensity for setting offsets. In a few years you might have a whole pot full of them!! And yes, some of the flower in subsequent years might be lighter in color and then the next year they will be darker, depending on temps etc. What ever color they turn out to be, it's a lovely bloom!! ☺☺☺Donna

I didn't even know that amaryllis could be fragrant! Thanks for writing and telling me Donna. I am off to take a whiff . . .

I would love to have a whole pot full of offsets! Well, I'll just have to wait and see. And about the color, I agree that whatever the shade of color it is, it will be pretty.

Yes, there are quite a few that are fragrant, some more than others! Without taxing my brain too much Gervase, Splash and Apple Blossom come to mind also and there are others for sure!!
