Hi. Depending on your budget, you could move your toilet in this space. Where your existing toilet is put a double or single vanity and where your existing vanity is you could put a bath (if you would like to add a bath). For your shower you could put a wall to wall frameless shower screen.

ok, nothing to do with the remodel of the room, but as an avid parrot owner and breeder, you need a larger cage for that bird and some toys and a variet of perches to keep its feet healthy! You also need to place it where there is a lot of INDIRECT light and away from the window! Oh, and put the bird in a room where it can observe what's going on with your family. Birds are flock animals, they thrive in "groups" not hidden in a cave all alone.

agree that you need a picture of the entire bathroom or a diagram. also, what are the dimensions of this space? how high is the window off the floor?

You can leave the window alcove plain and empty. That way people can step and look out the window as they wait for their shower glow to dissipate.

Build a window seat that opens for storage. What a great place to keep blankets and quilts when they aren't needed!

I was also going to tell you to build a window seat with storage, with a nice tailored cushion for the top so that you have a comfy place to sit and change.

A simple fix is adding a bench seat with pllows and a hinged lid for storage underneath. A window seat is always welcome. It could be a dirty clothes hamper. If you're remodeling the entire bathroom, then sneak your toilet in there. Perfect use of awkward space.

Like the color combination.

I love the color combo and I love a window in the bathroom away from the goings on of the space. I'm all for plants in the bathroom and that window lends a perfect space for a hanging spider. Perhaps a chrome and glass vanity (with a bench) to house body washes, soaps, swabs, lotions... The chrome and glass will reflect the light from the window throughout the space. Set a Purple Passion or an African Violet on the vanity for a pop of color and you have a cute usable space with natural light and ventilation that pops.

I think a vanity would be a great use of this space. The natural light from the window would facilitate applying makeup. You could extend the window treatment to cover the entire back wall.

Bettie Waddle, we're thinking alike. I would love a little area like this for a vanity. Personally, I would change the window covering to a roller shade with light filtering quality. You could even use the table that you have already in the nook. I might consider painting it maybe a rosy pinky color or turquoise. Then get an antique mirror on a stand for the table with a lovely dressing set. Cover the walls in the alcove with a variety of antique mirrors with frilly over the top frames. Find a stool for the table with a patterned material cushion.

Dar Eckert, I wouldn't want to cover the window either as I said previously I love natural light in the bathroom. Additional mirrors sounds nice too. I'd still have to add a plant or two in that window. Pops of color are essential.

If you are going to use it as a make up area, you would need some kind of window covering - a sheer, maybe - to filter the light and remove any glare IMHO.
