Wow that's a lot of them. Do you leave near wilderness area? One year we caught 8 of them and took them to county animal control. When we were proudly telling the AC officer about trapping so many, he suggested that providing food, even inside a trap, might be the reason we were catching so many. The animals had tagged our property as a food source rather than a danger zone. We stopped trapping for the next few weeks and we didn't notice any more clues of animal prowling. We've decided to trap sporadically rather than as 24/7 program.

We take them over the river to the next city to let them live at the beach there.

Probably someone over in the next city trapping them and bringing them back to your neighborhood. Nasty looking thing.

I have one of them in our backyard. He comes and sits on the fence every single night. He eats snails and leaves their shells on the fence. At first, I didn't know how to get rid of him without hurting him. After I found on the internet that he is not related to rodents, I let him roam in our backyard and name him "Peter".

We heard a vet on talk radio one time talk about really bad diseases your cat or dog can get from opossums and raccoons if they roam around where your animals are. Not so much the ticks and fleas but the drool etc.

We happily let ours go across a river at a homeless illegal encampment...

Oh no! I have two Yorkshire terrier. I will have to think about how I can get rid of him without hurting him.

live capture trap...they sell them at Harbor Freight cheap. bait it with feta and smelly salmon...they all love that.

I think "Peter" knew what I planned to do to him. I haven't seen him since then. It's good for him and good for me.
