IMO nether of these styles suits a split level home they are both really traditional and split levels are not.I think we need to see the other spaces in your home to help.

We're renovating the whole house - we just recently purchased the home. We plan to choose our kitchen and then style the rest of the home to match.

Hi Jen3214, really hard to say without seeing pics of your home....particularly the spaces adjacent to the kitchen. But out of the 2 photos you posted, I like the first.

Really love white kitchens....and yes, they can go well with SS appliances + exude warmth especially with hardwoods (in a warm color).

It really depends too on what other finishes, colors, accessories and materials are selected as well as how it's styled.

The first inspiration pic you posted is a great example of that.....from the floors to the beams to the bar stools and the wood countertop. Lots of warm elements have been incorporated in that space.

I like the white kitchen. I think your stainless steel appliances will look good against that background.

It seems your kitchen choices are leaning towards traditional rustic and could force you to stay close to that if you are planning on decorating your home around it. Be sure that's the style you want for your new home. I really don't think the color is as important as the style you select. For instance, a farmhouse feel, no matter the color, will allow you to have more flexibility with the way you decorate/easier to pair up with, given its clean lines and ability to compliment lots of different styles.

I don’tmean to rain on the parade but trying to make a split level into a traditional home is not going to work, I think if you think more transitional you might have some luck but those first 2 kitchens not so much.

Sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants. But do post some interiors as Avery advised for some guidance.

I would go with white, with a Shaker-style door. The Shaker style has the clean lines you will want to go with your split-level home, and is much more versatile in terms of coordinating with other styles you might like for the rest of your house.

I think that might be the answer.

I admit to being partial to white kitchens.

I think you have gotten good advice. Regardless of which inspiration pic you follow, I think I'd pare back some of the "details" in both of them. I think they both are busy for what will be a relatively small kitchen (mine is only a couple feet wider and I can't envision everything going on in the inspiration picks being in that space-which is much smaller that the real inspiration pics).
