    Thanks for your question! These doors were acquired from a craftsman in California via "Etsy" website (by our client). Our original design concept for the barn doors originally assumed our local trim carpenter would be making them, but later our client found a better deal for these doors which where shipped direct from the carpenter. These particular doors were made from actual barn-wood or aged wood, so it was greyed prior. The backside of the doors were less grey, and perhaps cleaned up a bit. It is possible that the other side was originally less weathered. So, if you want to make your own doors with new wood, you could experiment with different shades of grey-opaque stains ... or just find some pre-weathered wood. Good luck!
