I love this post! I love your video and your greenhouse, and all of your plants. Can I move into your greenhouse, please! I wish I had that kind of room, I gave that kind of room up over the holiday season and now I am throwing out seedlings that don't look at least 95%. John, for the first time in my life I am seeing someone that has more Adenium seedlings than I do. Amazing span of a greenhouse you have! Wow to have that kind of space is the dream of a lifetime. I watched your video and words cannot explain how many you have. I have to ask you, how long does it take to water all of these plants and how frequently are you watering them? Currently maintaining a very large flock myself.

Hi John, nice green house full of adeniums..must be 2000 atleast. Wonder how you water the farthest ones near the walls of the green house.Did you grow these from seeds? How old are these? Nice and healthy seedlings.Am sure some of them must be putting out buds by now and hope you will share the pics of them in bloom.

You've undertaken quite a project. I've grown lots of tree seedlings some adenium too, never so many of the same thing though. Are you going to pot them all up a size eventually? The cups won't last too long. I suggest being ruthless at some point and pick out the best, most interesting, dwarf or whatever and toss, sell, give away the others. For me hundreds of seedlings became too much work

thanks everyone , its been a while since i was on here , i am potting them up in larger pots now .. and i will take more pics soon yes there is around 1500 ive planted and i have 1500 more seeds to plant as soon as its warm enough, i fell in love with these as they are so bonsai -like ,,,,, no buds yet , they are only 5 months or so old , yes watering is a chore !!! and only water about once avery 5-7 days as i keep them on the dry side ! they dry out in 1-2 days after watering

Thank you for sharing this awesome experience with us. From the perspective of making this a teaching moment, I have some questions, if I may.

Did you sow all 1500 seeds at once (~ Sept 17, 2015)? They all look to be about the same age.

How many seeds did you actually sow? What was your germination ratio on this first batch?

Are these all the same variety of Adenium or are there several varieties?

What about pinching? Have you pinched any of them back? If so, at what age and did you pinch back 2, 4, or 6 leaves? did you have good results with multiple branching?

Have you begun fertilizing these? If so, at what age and how much / what N-P-K?

How many seeds did you actually sow? ,....2000 ish What was your germination ratio on this first batch? first batch was low around 50% but second batch was 90% ( i kept them damper and helped them more out of there cribs)

What about pinching? Have you pinched any of them back? If so, at what age and did you pinch back 2, 4, or 6 leaves? did you have good results with multiple branching? pinching not so much , i did use scissors and trim them to keep some from getting to tall yjis does seem to help with branching , i then planted cuttings with about 50% luck the cuttings without rooting powder seemed to do best and it did not seem to matter if i let the stems cure overnight or just stuck them in dirt !!

Have you begun fertilizing these? If so, at what age and how much / what N-P-K? yes i did start at about 2 months old but i do it with the fertilize weakly , weekly method :)

oh and yes there is suppose to be 100 dif kinds of colors i also started some pet banana , white giants, and other adeniums that are not obesium in the blue solo cups

Super effort John, seems like someone's adeniums really moved you so much to launch into this, or was it preplanned ? Have you been growing them earlier too but moved into giant scale only now? What are the future plans?? Wishing you and the adeniums the very best luck! :)

John addressed this on his 3/22 post. I asked him whether or not he had pinched back any of the seedlings and whether or not they had branched out. John indicated that he did not pinch, but actually cut the tops off some to keep them from getting too tall. These did branch out.

If you're anything like me, your mouth is open just watching all of these. This is such a huge undertaking and John has his hands full with watering and fertilizing alone, I'm sure. We are all hoping this is a successful and rewarding experience for him.

I only have 9 adenium (3 mixed variety 1-month olds, 5 2-week olds from Roger, & a 2-year old from cutting that my mom's sister gave her), so my life is very uncomplicated right now. My niece found these so cool, she

just mailed me a 10-pack of different variety adenium seeds. I wonder what I'll get out of those. I'd just be happy to improve my germination rate for this climate. One step at a time...trial & error! We all learn from one another; that's the beauty of this site.

John, how are you doing? I had forgotten your name and am so glad I found you again! Every time I look at my 100+ seedlings I think of "that poor guy with over 2,000 to feed & water!"

They're still small, Ann. Even the 3 year old is kept compact ... and has been turned into 6 separate plants, all from cutting. These are her blooms.

Those greenhouse grown adenium look so perfect! Mine are in the yard and are dragged around, in and out of the rain. The neigbor's cat bothers them, my daughter bumps them. They look like street thugs compared to yours.

Mine will stay out through rain or shine. Cold is the only issue that causes me to worry!

I think that John Tobine's 2000 adeniums are keeping him so busy that he has forgotten houzz gardenweb adenium forum!! They must be all flowering by now and he must be happy with the blooms...and busy clicking pics...one of these days he will post them...and we will all be surprised. 2000 must be a whole lot of work am sure!
