Guava Berry Bush losing leaves

last modified: 10 years ago

I bought a Guava Berry Bush from lowest last summer because it was on sale (not in great shape). I planted it in maybe a 20-30 gallon container. It recuperated quite nicely with very little effort and grew to at least doubke it's size. However it's been consistently dropping leaves since the fall. Is this normal? Will leaves grow back in spring. Or is it dying? Also. This maybe a silly question. But if it's not dying. Will it actually produce fruit? It didn't last year so I wonder if it needs a cross fertilizing companion.
