Instantly Wilting Hydrangeas

Hello, I grow hydrangeas and have bought cut ones many times with no issue. This weekend, I bought cut hydrangeas in my local produce store. The next morning they were dead! I thought maybe something was wrong with the ceramic vase I was using or the flower food, as the last set of mixed flowers I had in those conditions also died overnight. Or maybe because I mixed a eucalyptus stem in with the arrangement.

I went back to the produce store and they still had the same cases of hydrangeas from the day before which were looking lively. I got another few hydrangea stems and this time put them in a different glass vase, without that food, and no eucalyptus. Yet they still started wilting within hours! Does anyone know why this could be happening? I tried bathing the hydrangeas in water and putting the stems in hot water but it has not revived them.
